The Common Place (sadly has since broken up and band members are working on separate projects)...

Minnesota's five-piece The Common Place provides pop, strong guitar work, violin, and even some punk-rock on this release. The dual vocals are nice; however, Joe Bernard who holds his place in the band solely as the singer has not written any of the words for this release. Refreshingly, his sincerity and emotion in those words does not lack. The other band members seem to have a list of proficiencies with different instruments as long as the Dixie Chicks!

We've got Chris the bass player also good with the trumpet (none of which is displayed in this band thank God), Josh the rhythm guitarist also not only a trumpet player but an experienced bagpipest, and lead guitarist Brendan who is an award-winning cellist! JT the drummer holds place as the youngest member of the band, so undoubtedly in no time will have a few instruments behind his belt when he catches up. The oddest part of it all is that the pictures of these guys inside of their CD present them as maybe 18 years old. You wouldn't know it whatsoever except in slight indications in the singer's vocal style.

The Common Place have a strong singer and strong musicians too match. They have great arrangements and songwriting skill.
